Alongside my “formal” painting practice, I also love to make comics and zines! They tend to be more casual, shorthanded in nature, and representations of personal moments I want to remember in my daily life with my wife, Cheryl.
For quite a long time, I felt my comic and zine pieces were not “worthy” representations of my professional self - certainly not enough to include on my website. However, in recent years, as I continue to write and conduct Comic/Zine Workshops and teach courses focused on Sequential Art, I have decided that they should hold the same importance as my conceptual painting practice.

My comic practice has also become an inherent part of my teaching practice and philosophy. I have enjoyed using comics and digital illustration to create supplementary learning material, exercises (particularly for critique), and gifts/shows of goodwill to my students.
